A Hidden Speakeasy at Dodger Stadium? (5/4/25)
Hidden away under the right field bleachers next to the visiting bullpen, there is a “speakeasy” bar at Dodger Stadium. It is a cozy space seating about 90 people. There are couple of ushers who check you in through a nondescript door which just has the number two (Tommy Lasorda’s number) on it. There is a tiny little sign on an orange plaque in the picture which reads, "Right Field Bar. Authorized personnel only.” You have to know it is there.
Inside you’ll find a well-stocked bar with decent drinks, and seats that allow you to spy on the visiting bullpen. Last night my friend JT and I stopped in for a pregame drink and some snacks. While I would’ve preferred the music not to be so loud inside (yes I’m an old guy), it was really relaxing to sit there having a snack and a drink while watching the A’s rookie pitcher Gunnar Hoglund warm up for his third major-league start. (Side note: his warmup did not prevent him from giving up a homerun to Shohei Ohtani on the third pitch of the game.)
We sat there an hour or so before the game, enjoyed the view and then walked up to our seats, arriving just in time for the National Anthem.
