NOT a good idea - 10-Cent Beer Night (6/4/25)
It is 51 years ago today that the Cleveland Indians offered fans beer for a dime, with a generous limit of six at a time, for a home game against the Texas Rangers. As this Washington Post article puts it eloquently, “What could go wrong?” While Cleveland was averaging fewer than 14,000 fans per game, 25,000 fans showed up on June 4, 1974. And, of course, Billy Martin was in the middle of it all.

The photos are priceless. (I was reminded of this because my friends at the Las Vegas Aviators have a $2 beer night on Thursday, but there appear to be significant and thoughtful limitations at the Vegas version.)
